RDS Advantage has so many features it's hard to talk about them all on the website so we thought we should tell you about some of the lesser known gems about our church management software.

1. Make Keychain Tags for Members.
The membership features make it easy to understand and organize the community. Members can be added to RDS and edited later on as members' roles change and families grow. The Comprehensive Inquiry allows you to view all data about a member or family. You can add photos to member files and associate them with different groups or activities. Photos can be recorded for each individual, couple and family. Bar-coded membership cards and key-chain tags can be used to identify, enroll, and track attendance. Now that's high tech.
2. Email Newsletters Automatically.
RDS Advantage has a great e-mail feature that many find indispensable. Instead of having to use additional email software the system is used to identify persons to receive your message, then it uses your e-mail application to send. Send out newsletters to ensure you’re reaching everyone in your congregation or your entire staff. Send contribution statements and receivable statements by e-mail. With these built-in features you can ensure your e-mailing efforts will go well with your other membership out reach programs. Send bulk text messages to individuals or those in certain activities. When sending bulk e-mail the program can automatically address envelopes or postcards, or print address labels for all those you've selected who do not have an e-mail address.
3. Track Music Selections.
There’s a music database in RDS Advantage that helps you keep track of all your church music. Enter a piece of music into the database and track up to 30 different pieces of information including: solos, tempo/pace, copy-write information, photo-slides associated with the music and chorus information. The music database tracks music for choirs, ensembles, solos, organ and bells.
4. Track Regular Contributors.
Contributions and pledges can be tracked in detail automatically. When making contribution entries, the system knows whether they are from pledges, regular contributors, or from unknown individuals (loose plate collections). As a result the debit and credit entries are automatically entered for the correct general ledger and contribution ledger accounts. Check imagers scan the check to identify the contributor and check number, so all that needs to be entered is the check amount. Encrypted images of the checks are stored on your computer for future reference. The deposit endorsement is printed on the back of each check, and when data entry is complete the checks can be electronically deposited to your bank account - all in one step.
5. Manage Church Items.
A unique inventory tracking system automates inventory recording and reporting of fixed and expendable asset items. Reports show changes in inventory items from one date to another, showing changes by item and value. Reports show items that are borrowed, missing and added. Inventory reports can the show location of each item. Inventory can be taken by inexpensive scanners and uploaded into the system. Churches that have suffered a major disaster have learned the importance of having good inventory records for insurance purposes.
